Sergio 'Checo' Pérez assured that by not having the pressure to demonstrate his level to be in Formula 1, he can focus on other objectives

The season that Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez had with Red Bull in Formula 1 has awakened the enthusiasm of the Mexican driver, since he assured that after what was shown last year he knows that he has the chance of becoming world champion.

‘Checo’ assured that this is possible since the time where he had to show his talent to be in Formula 1 has passed, so now, thanks to the fact that he does not have that ‘load’, he can focus on other objectives within the ‘ Big Circus.

“I don’t need to be here anymore, you know. I am here because I still fully believe that I can become world champion. Also, of course, because I enjoy working with my team, that’s all. Therefore, I am very grateful that Red Bull has extended my contract,” Checo Pérez told the TAG Heuer Podcast.

Finally ‘Checo’ added that he feels ready for a new season with Red Bull, since he has been able to consolidate himself within the team, forming a great team with each of the members, so he enjoys the work he has.

“The group of people here, the engineers, the Red Bull culture; it’s a great brand. That involves more work than I’m used to, but I really enjoy it. I feel like I’m a big part of this. I work well with Max and with the engineers, in fact with the whole team.”
