Brandon Moreno will have his first defense of his UFC title this weekend and he assures that it is the beginning of a great legacy

ne of the moments that most marked 2021 was undoubtedly the championship that Brandon Moreno won in the UFC, and now, in 2022, he wants to continue with that legacy that he has in his first official defense.

But like any good story, the first fight could not be better than against Deiveson Figueiredo, the third episode that will definitively close this rivalry, where the Mexican will know if the championship stays in his hands or returns to the waist from where he snatched it. .

Despite the fact that the challenge has a minimum margin of error for the Mexican, the “Assassin Baby” arrives calm, but not confident, for this fight, because he knows that this title came to him to stay for a long time, since he wants to write a great story within the UFC.

“Take advantage of all my opportunities, that is the key to success. I’m going to show who I am, and that’s the hardest worker. No one will work harder than me. I believe in myself. I’m ready to do something huge.

I am focused and preparing for this fight. I want to have the belt for a long, long time, so first I need to defend my title against Figueiredo. And I’m ready to do it,” Brandon added at a press conference.

Brandon says that despite the fact that fame and success have come to him after winning the championship, he is clear that this is temporary and for that reason he does not lose sight of his goal of being the best Mexican champion in MMA.

“My family’s piñata business in Tijuana changed our lives forever. We were very poor, but that business changed that. All the hard work behind this changed our family’s lives.

“The underdog mentality is an advantage for me, one that always helps me. I want to be the best. I’m working every day to be that, and that mentality makes me work even harder,” he said.
