March 1 the deadline to collect voting credential: INE

The National Electoral Institute stated that only citizens who have their voter cards may participate in June 5 elections

MEXICO CITY – Tuesday, March 1 is the deadline to obtain voting cards that have been requested or updated in the 14 states that hold elections on June 5, the National Electoral Institute (INE) reported.

All citizens who made the transaction for the first time, registered for the electoral roll or requested a renewal, upgrade or replacement of a green card and have not yet collected, have until the end of Monday to pick it up.

Through a statement, the INE stated that only citizens who have their voter cards may participate on election day, held on 5 June.

To collect the credential, the only requirement to be met by citizens is to bring the receipt given to them the day of the transaction.

The 12 states holding elections on June 5th and renew the governorship are: Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Sinaloa, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Hidalgo, Oaxaca, Quintana Roo, Tamaulipas, Chihuahua, Veracruz and Durango.

To be elected on June 5 are 60 deputies to the Constituent Assembly of Mexico City, and local congresses and municipalities in Baja California.
