Authorities Seize 500 Kilos of Marijuana in Tamaulipas

The Mexican Army and Tamaulipas state police recovered the narcotics in three separate operations

The Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has carried out three investigations into the crime of possession of narcotics, following the seizure of 500 kilograms of marijuana in various operations undertaken by the Mexican Army and Tamaulipas state police.

The PGR said that state police, located three packages of marijuana, which in total weighed over nine kilos while making routine patrols on the Reynosa-San Fernando road.

They also reported that the Mexican Army found packages with a total weight of 192 kilos on the banks of the Rio Bravo, in the Miguel Aleman borough.

In a third instance, solider carried out reconnaissance operations in the Poblado Guardados de Abajo area, where 60 packages of marijuana were found with a total weight of 300 kilos.

The PGR stated that investigations are continuing in order to ascertain who is responsible for the drugs.
