Through her Instagram account, the singer Ariana Grande announced that she is joining the production of Wicked, a Broadway classic that will be adapted to the cinema.
Universal Studios is already preparing a version of this classic work, one of the most successful of all time, under the direction of Jon M. Chu, who triumphed in 2019 with the comedy “Crazy Rich Asians”.
Chu’s experience includes adapting other musicals to the big screen, as this year he premiered “In the Heights” by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Quiara Alegría Hudes.
Wicked tells the story of the witches of Oz, Glinda and Elphaba, prior to the events of The Wizard of Oz.

This year she can be seen in the movie “Don’t Look Up” by Adam McKay, in which she has a small participation.
On the other hand, Erivo, who was nominated for an Oscar for best actress for “Harriet”, achieved notoriety thanks to the series “Genius”, in which she played Aretha Franklin.
