The Navy Secretariat (Semar) reported that five navy members involved in the enforced disappearance of one person in the state of Nuevo León in August 3, 2013, were left at the charge of the Third District Court in Criminal Matters.

In a statement, the Semar said that the officers were the target of a formal order of imprisonment between March 8 and 9, 2016, for the crime of enforced disappearance.

The secretariat said that it had collaborated closely with the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) since the beginning of the investigation carried out by the latter regarding the crime.

Following the presumption of innocence principle, the officers accused are innocent until a judge declares otherwise.
