Police officers belonging to the Mexico City Public Security Secretariat (SSP) located the two minors who escaped from the José Vasconcelos elementary school in the Tlatilco neighborhood yesterday after the earthquake.

Hiromi Guadalupe Nieto and Sebastián Sánchez Cruz, 12 and 11 years old respectively, were found in a convenience store in the Victoria de las Democracias neighborhood in the Azcapotzalco borough.

The parents of the minors filed a complaint with the Care Center for Missing and Absent Persons (CAPEA), which issued an Amber alert.

A report said that the minors took advantage of the confusion during the earthquake to escape from the school and avoid scolding from the director, after a classmate accused them of kissing on the premises.

The minors and their relatives were taken to a center of the Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) in order for them to declare that they were returned to their families.
