The conservative candidate won the governorship with more than 45 percent of the votes

With 99 percent of ballots counted by the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP), Tony Gali, the candidate for an alliance between the National Action Party (PAN), the Labor Party (PT) and the New Alliance Party (Panal) won with more than 45 percent of votes.

In second place, Blanca Alcalá Ruiz, the candidate for the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Green Party (PVEM), won 33.57 percent of the votes.

The rate of participation was 44.67 percent.
