The extension will be 7.5 km long and will add 20 stations to the line

Gustavo A. Madero Borough Chief Víctor Hugo Lobo Román said that Metrobús Line 7 will be extended to the Carmen Serdán Sports Center, benefitting more than 300,000 residents.

He indicated that the extension will reduce the concentration of passengers at the Indios Verdes stop, which now serves 136,000 people and creates problems for the movement of buses.

In a press release, Lobo Román said that the extension will be 7.5 km (4.6 miles) long and will add 20 stations to the line that already has 31 stops.

“In Gustavo A. Madero, we will also create separated lanes for public transportation,” he said.

Lobo Román mentioned that citizens of 50 neighborhood of Cuautepec will benefit from the extension. Transportation times of an hour and a half will be reduced to 30 minutes.

Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera Espinosa, who made the announcement, added that along the route there will be modifications, like sidewalks, drainage and lighting, that will be put in place during the project.
