Civil Protection authorities have reported that number of fatalities after Tuesday’s earthquake has reached 273 across the country.

In its most recent calculations, the National Coordination of Civil Protection said that 137 of the deaths correspond to Mexico City, 73 to Morelos, 43 to Puebla, 13 to the State of Mexico, six to Guerrero and one to Oaxaca.

The Interior Secretariat (Segob) indicated that these are preliminary figures and that they are still in constant modification, especially since the work of rescue and recovery continues.
