Monday was a good day for the Mexican peso, as it saw significant gains in value against major global currencies in Mexico City currency exchanges.
The dollar dropped 44 centavos to close at a maximum selling price of 19.07 pesos. Banks purchased the dollar for 17.89 pesos.
The euro dropped 63 centavos to close at 21.01 pesos, while the pound lost 70 centavos to close at 23.54 pesos and the yen closed at 0.206 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at 18.6192 pesos per dollar.
