The peso continued gaining ground against other major currencies Tuesday, as the dollar declined 24 centavos to close at a selling price of 18.83 pesos in Mexico City currency exchanges. Banks purchased the dollar for a minimum of 17.65 pesos.
The euro dropped 28 centavos to close at 20.73, while the pound and yen closed at 23.26 pesos and 0.202 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at18.5089 pesos per dollar.
