The president of the Dominican Republic has been sworn in for a second term as leader of the country that boasts the strongest economic growth in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Danilo Medina was inaugurated Tuesday after winning the highest vote percentage in the country’s democratic history earlier this year.
Before the ceremony, Medina tweeted about being given the honor of the presidency.

He has pledged to implement a technological revolution over the next four years to further boost the economy by offering more government services online and to provide every student and teacher with a computer.
The Dominican government has said that GDP grew 7 percent last year.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and Spanish King Juan Carlos were among leaders who attended the inauguration.
