Marco Antonio Palacios “Pikolín” has announced his retirement from professional football after 13 years.
Having tried to return to Pumas, the team offered him no response and he decided to say goodbye. He will reportedly return as a coach after he completes a five month course in Barcelona.
Palaccios played for three teams in the Mexico’s first division; Pumas, Veracruz and Morelia. With Pumas he claimed four titles, made all the sweeter by playing for the team closest to his heart.
Though perhaps never the most technically gifted, Pikolín was always a competitor who gave his all. Adios, Pikolín.
