The culmination of the entire season, both teams take the stage at the stadium in Mexico City’s Buena Noche neighborhood, and in which the fans hope to see to see which if their squad will finish three competitions without attending the league’s the big party.

Hence the importance of the match in the cement box to find out if the result for Cruz Azul is an end to this losing streak, if not it would be more failure in the already disappointing history of the institution.

Cruz Azul can not afford to again be left out of the playoffs, as the managerial hand of Tomas Boy underwent a positive change with good football and goals, that has brought his team close to qualifying and returning to a fight for the title.

As the two teams enter into play, their work over the last six months shows la ”Máquina Celeste,” or the celestial machine as their fans call them, in eighth place of the Clausura with 22 points, while los Tigres are a step down at 21. Both need a decisive win, or be left out.

A draw would put them in both check, and a triumph by the UNAM Pumas over Club América on Sunday could leap over the two teams in the rankings leaving both of them out.
