Veracruz Citizen Applies for Independent Candidacy for Governor

Juan Bueno Torio, is the first citizen applying for registration as an independent candidate for governor of the state of Veracruz, announcing his candidacy Sunday attending the Veracruz Local Public Electoral Agency (OPLE).

A statement said that the executive secretary of OPLE Veracruz, Héctor Alfredo Roa Morales, received the nomination documents, as stated in article 173 of the Electoral Code of Veracruz.

In turn, Alejandro Bonilla Bonilla, executive chairman, said the OPLE received the application for registration through the executive secretary of the General Council for their opportunity to rule on the merits of the request.

The candidate for governor came to the OPLE with his family.

The formal ceremony was also attended by the electoral councilors Julia Hernández García, Jorge Alberto Hernández y Hernández and Iván Tenorio Hernández.
