Various Traffic Accidents Reported Due to Rain, Hail

Across the country, motorists are counseled to proceed with caution

MEXICO CITY – Federal Roads and Bridges of Conexos Income and Services (Capufe) recommended that drivers that commute by highway to proceed with caution, due to climatic conditions like snow, hail and rain in different parts of the country.

On Twitter, the office, which answers to the Secretariat of Communication and Transport (SCT) covers the state of different roads and vehicular incidents.

It said that the Durango Mazatlán highway is registering a closure on kilometer 100 to 137 due to snowfall, for which they are recommending that people take extreme caution.

On the Mexico City-Cuernavaca highway rain and intense mist was reported in the Tres Marías zone, drivers are warned to travel with precaution by turning on their lights and reducing their speed. An accident was reported on the Cuautla-La Pera highway, on kilometer 10.

Another incident was reported on the Cuernavaca-Acapulco highway on kilometer 185, which has already been cleared and circulation restored on the Durango-Mazatlán highway, though motorists are still advised to proceed with caution.

Capufe, through its social media, suggests that users call 074 if they need medical assistance, road help, or information about highways.
