SOLIDARIDAD, PLAYA DEL CARMEN, 06MAYO2015.- Soldados del Ejército Mexicano, personal del Estado Mayor Presidencial y la Policía Federal, blindaron los hoteles “Grand Velas” y Fairmont Mayakoba, sedes del “Foro Económico Mundial (WEF por sus siglas en inglés) sobre América Latina 2015”, que se lleva a cabo desde hoy y hasta el viernes 08 de mayo. Se prevé una asistencia de 750 participantes de 45 nacionalidades y seis jefes de Estado. Mañana será inaugurado oficialmente por Enrique Peña Nieto, presidente de México. El objetivo del foro en México es colaborar en la transición de América Latina para el crecimiento económico a largo plazo.

PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico – Mexican authorities say a U.S. man is being held in the death of his American girlfriend in the Caribbean resort city of Playa del Carmen.
Federal police identify the man as 59-year-old John Loveless, but have not released his hometown. A police statement says he was detained at the Cancun airport before he was to board a flight to Atlanta.
The U.S. Embassy in Mexico City confirmed the death in Playa del Carmen of an American citizen. It identified her as Tamra Turpin.
Neither Mexican nor U.S. officials would release any other details.
