Uncertainty on Trump Policies Hinders Economic Expectations

Due to the growing unease and uncertainty created by the prospect of economic policies to be implemented by President-elect Donald Trump, the Mexican Institute of Finance Executives (IMEF) decreased by two percent its projections on economic growth for 2016 and 2017.

“Growth was 1.9 percent slower and inflation in 2016 and an inflation of 3.4 percent, for 2017 we established ranges of 1.0-1.7 percent for growth and 4.2 for inflation. Beyond the policies of the president-elect, there are feelings of fear in certain markets which will hinder investment,” said the national president of IMEF Joaquín Gándara.
