UAEM’s Health Education B.S. Receives International Certification

The Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education taught by the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) received a four-year international certification granted by the Inter American Coalition of Universities and Training Centers for Health Education and Health Promotion Personnel (CIUEPS).

CIUEPs is composed of public institutions from Puerto Rico, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, México, Jamaica and the United States. International evaluators assessed UAEM’s program in September to verify the degree’s standards such as faculty members, facilities, research personnel and students.

Academic Director Héctor Campos Alanís stated that since its creation in 2007 the degree program is firmly committed to the formation of highly qualified individuals that promote healthy lifestyle choices in order to prevent illnesses.

Campos Alanís said the CIUEPS certification guarantees top international standards for the 283 students currently enrolled in the program.
