Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) rector Jorge Olvera García made a visit to Texas State University, in order to strengthen academic ties and launch the second Liaison Office in a higher education institution in the United States, the fifth during this administration.

Olvera García said that UAEM received Texan professors as part of the exchange program, who will participate in projects and attend UAEM.

The UAEM has had a presence in Texas since around 2002. Specifically in the University of North Texas where there is a Liaison Office. Olvera García planned to open another one in Texas State University in February, which he described as a larger and more extensive university. However, it will most likely be completed at the end of his term as rector.

In order to promote and strengthen opportunities for student mobility, cooperation, joint research and cultural exchange, the opening of the Liaison Offices was one of the actions that characterized Olvera García’s administration.
