UAEM Rector Declares Alcohol Decriminalization Unfavorable

The rector of the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM), Alfredo Barrera Baca said when referencing the decriminalization of the sale of alcohol to minors, “I would dare to anticipate that it is not a favorable measure.”

He said that it is important for Mexican young people to have a “healthy youth to promote more appropriate lifestyles.”

The rector pointed out that there are permanent security measures in all UAEM high schools. In addition, 10 schools operate the Safe Backpacking Program, where students are randomly screened and surveillance is reinforced.
