The Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) students’ hard work and dedication has put them as one of the top ten universities in the country, said Rector Jorge Olvera García while leading the 34th dinner organized by the Federation of Autonomous Associations of UAEM Academic Staff (FAAPAUAEM) to commemorate Teacher’s Day.
Accompanied by president of the local Legislature Political Coordination Board Cruz Juvenal Roa Sánchez and FAAPAUAEM general secretary Víctor Manuel Pineda Gutiérrez, Olvera García said that, “the recent triumph of the Potros team is an example of what UAEM students can do with a little discipline, methodology, study, agreement and identity.”
Speaking to the general director of the Social Security Institute of the State of Mexico and its Municipalities (ISSEMYM) Delfino Reyes Paredes and the general secretary of the UAEM United Service Workers Union León Carmona Castillo, Pineda Gutiérrez recognized UAEM teaching staff and Olvera García’s leadership. He also congratulated his fellow colleagues, who make university teaching an exercise in solidarity and compromise.
Part of the celebration included a traditional car raffle.
