UAEM Faculty Develop Training Program for Geospatial IT

Academics from the Geography Department at the Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) developed a comprehensive training program for Geospatial Information Technology.

Professor Alfredo Estrada Ramírez explained that Geographic or Geospatial Information Technologies (GIT’s) are instruments that aid the collection, analysis and representation of geographically referenced data through digital instruments.

Estrada Ramírez noted that the New Training Program makes the use of these instruments more accessible and bolsters the understanding for future applications. The program also yields a less compartmentalized understanding of GIT’s which ensures the correct use of the technology as well as maximizes its potential.
