UAEM Ensuring the Growth and Development of University Spaces

Autonomous University of the State of Mexico (UAEM) Rector Jorge Olvera García opened outdoor gymnasiums at UAEM’s Chimalhuacán and Nezahualcóyotl campuses, that will benefit more than 3,000 students. The cornerstone was also laid for the Nezahualcóyotl’s remodel, which was possible through an investment of almost four million pesos ($196,830).

Accompanied by the coordinators of both campuses, José Hernández Ramírez and Héctor Campos Alanís, the rector toured the new facilities at the sites.

To students, academics, researchers and administrative workers of Chimalhuacán, Olvera García said that this space is among UAEM’s campuses with the most infrastructure, as a result of the support of the State of Mexico government.

He announced that the Professional Academic Unit (UAP) at Chimalhuacán will soon have another Potrobús which will allow students to travel safely, in order to complete homework and attend cultural and sporting activities, further promoting their personal and educational development.

Olvera García said that he will continue to make important efforts to improve university spaces with equipment and to offer new academic programs that will boost the development of the region.

The rector also recognized Esmeralda “Joya” Moreno, a boxer and UAEM student, saying that she is a great example to all.

In the UAP at Nezahualcóyotl, Olvera García has committed to carrying out remodeling works. He congratulated the community for the work it does to promote UAEM’s name and in turn, to develop the area.
