Eruviel Ávila, governor of the State of Mexico reiterated that he will prevent the eight thousand tons of waste generated in Mexico City to be brought to four deposits in the state.
He noted that the measure will prevent annually more than 10,000 tons of carbon dioxide and over 400 tons of methane gas from occurring.
“In the case of Mexico City has it been easier to generate solid waste to be deposited in their neighbor’s house, that is, in the State of Mexico,” he said.
Ávila added: “I demand with respect and cordiality that in the environmental table of the Megalopolis analyze the treatment of solid waste, because the State of Mexico can no longer continue to receive those 8,000 tons of garbage daily from Mexico City.”
The governor also proposed to the Megalopolis Commission that all areas, specialists and technicians provide correspondence that applies to them and discuss the liability.
