Senator Barbosa Resigns from PRD

MEXICO CITY – Senator Luis Miguel Barbosa Huerta officially resigned on Monday as a member of the Democratic Revolution Party (PRD). In a short statement addressed to the National Commission of Affiliation of the PRD, Barbosa Huerta said: “I hereby irrevocably resign to my participation in the party.”  The legislator, who had been a member of the PRD for 23 years, has served as a senator a federal deputy for the leftist party.

The statement was delivered to Alejandro Zamudio from the Affiliations Committee.

Luis Miguel Barbosa resigned from his positions in the Senate and the PRD after he announced his support of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) and its national leader.
