Ruiz Massieu Conducts Working Tour of Sacramento, Los Angeles

Claudia Ruiz Massieu, head of the Foreign Relations Secretariat (SRE), conducted a working tour of Sacramento and Los Angeles in California, from May 4 to 6.

The visit is part of the comprehensive strategy to strengthen the relationship between Mexico and the United States. Ruiz Massieu arrived Wednesday to Sacramento, where she was received by Ambassador Alejandra García Williams, General Consul of Mexico in that city.

Ruiz Massieu also had a meeting with California Gov. Edmund Brown Jr. Later, she met with California Pro Tempore Senate President Kevin de León, where she greeted a group of senators and Lali Moheno, organizer of the Women Farmworker Conference in Northern California.

The Mexican secretary will also go to Capitol Hill, where she will hold a meeting with Anthony Rendón, President of the California State Assembly. Afterward, she will attend a hearing before the full California Senate, where she will deliver a brief message. She will also meet with the advocacy group Cien Amigos (One Hundred Friends).

Ruiz Massieu is accompanied by Carlos Sada, Ambassador of Mexico to the United States; Ana Paola Barbosa, Chief of the Chancellor Office; Alejandra García Williams, Consul of Mexico in Sacramento; and Carlos Eugenio García de Alba, General Consul of Mexico in Los Angeles.
