PRI and Green Party Agree on Medicinal Use of Marijuana

MEXICO CITY — Members of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) and the Green Party (PVEM) agreed during a plenary meeting in the Senate to analyze, discuss and approve the medicinal and therapeutic use of marijuana.

Regarding the amendment of the legal amount of personal possession — from five, as the presidential initiative first established, to 28 grams — the lawmakers determined to delay discussions, as they require further analysis.

Both the PRI and the PVEM reaffirmed their commitment to respond to citizens’ demands.
