Mexico “welcomes the United States’ intentions to update the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA),” said President Enrique Peña Nieto, after the U.S. government gave notice of its intentions to revisit discussions on the current trade agreement.
Peña Nieto said that the country is ready to benefit from globalization, and that updating NAFTA will benefit the entire region.
“Mexico will look for ways to update this tri-national agreement, and through concrete compromises and results we will remain not only allies, but also good neighbors.”
