Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, head of the Interior Secretary (Segob), said that the dialogue with the members of the Interdisciplinary Group of Independent Experts (GIEI) is still ongoing in order to find the answers on the case of the 43 disappeared students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers College.

At a news conference, Osorio Chong said that the federal government is interested in finding results within the framework of the law.

“The Specialized Prosecutor for Organized Crime (SEIDO) oversees many different cases and they can’t devote all of their resources to the investigation on the 43 students. However, the GIEI is welcomed to work together with them. The group has called on the government to conduct a third investigation. All we want is to know the truth and this will lead us to it,” said Osorio Chong.
