The Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI) started its #PRIChallenge (#RetoPRI) campaign with a television spot featuring party president Enrique Ochoa Reza. The clip is a challenge to National Regeneration Movement (Morena) candidate from Tabasco, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).
The 30-second spot shows Ochoa Reza questioning why López Obrador does not declare income or property taxes. Ochoa Reza asks, “What does he live off of?”
He goes on to say, “In the PRI we set the example. Just look at my Three Out of Three declaration. Andrés Manuel, go on to www.RetoPRI.com and we will debate.” Three Out of Three is a government transparency initiative. The new campaign website www.RetoPRI.com was also launched.
The five challenges of the new campaign are: (1) combat corruption and impunity in Mexico, (2) end political, gender-based violence (3) communicate directly with all citizens, (4) defend institutions from those who want to destroy them, and (5) build an honest, transparent and just country.
