The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a new earthquake struck Mexico with a magnitude of 6.2 and was centered in the southern state of Oaxaca, the same region shaken by a magnitude 8.1 quake that hit earlier this month.
It also swayed buildings and set off alarms in Mexico City, which is trying to recover from Tuesday’s 7.1 quake, which killed hundreds of people.
Mexico City Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera tweeted that the earthquake could be felt in Mexico City.

It is not clear if the new earthquake caused damage or injury.
