New Vehicle Verification Regulations go Into Effect

This Friday the new Vehicle Verification Regulation went into effect, as determined by federal authorities. It will operate for the next six months in the six entities that make up the Megalopolis.

MEXICO CITY– This Friday the new Vehicle Verification Regulations determined by federal authorities went into effect. The regulations will operate for the next six months in the six entities that make up the Megalopolis— Mexico City, the State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Morelos, Puebla and Tlaxcala.

Friday vehicles with blue stickers and license plates ending in 9 and 0 cannot circulate between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Vehicles with 00 or 0 holograms can now be in circulation on a daily basis, including Saturdays.

Cars with a 1 hologram will be restricted as such: the first and third Saturday of the month, cars with plates ending in odd numbers will not circulate.

The second and fourth Saturday, those that have plates ending in even numbers will not circulate. Vehicles with the 2 hologram are restricted from circulating all Saturdays.

On their Twitter page, Megalopolis Environmental Commission (Came) posted an infograph, showing Friday vehicle restrictions.

The vehicle Verification Program will not change, and drivers must verify their vehicles in the month stipulated for the second half of the year.

July-August— Yellow sticker, plates ending in 5 and 6

August-September— Pink stickers and plates ending in 7 and 8

September-October— Red stickers and plates ending in 3 and 4

October-November— Green stickers and plates ending in 1 and 2

November-December— Blue stickers and plates ending in 9 and 10
