Mexico Will Not Allow Foreign Troops in Its Territory

Mexican Presidency Spokesman Eduardo Sánchez categorically stated that Mexico will not allow operations of foreign troops within its national territory, as it is inadmissible under the Mexican Constitution.

During the morning newscast Despierta con Loret, Sánchez acknowledged the difficulty of the negotiations given the current political situation and what is at stake. However, he claimed that Mexico has all the means necessary to defend its own territory against internal threats.

In regards to the negotiations, Sánchez added that formalities do not hinder a firm position in negotiations and that Mexico has always been “a fair player in foreign relations.”
