The Foreign Relations Secretariat (SRE) backed the United Nations Security Council’s Resolution to condemn the nuclear test and the launch of a rocket with ballistic missile technology carried out by North Korea.
The events took place on January 6 and February 7 and were sanctioned with the resolution number 2270, which establishes new sanctions against North Korea.
The sanction reinforces measures imposed by the U.N. Security Council since 2006, in order to prevent North Korea from accessing technology, raw materials or funding for its nuclear and ballistic missiles military program.
This, with the aim of reducing the threat that country represents to the stability of the Korean Peninsula and international peace and security.
