March Commemorates Two Years Since Ayotzinapa Disappearances

The Mexico City government is expecting the march commemorating the second year since the disappearance of the 43 students from the Ayotzinapa Rural Teachers College to arrive at the Zócalo.

“If there isn’t blocking of daily activities, we don’t have any problem with them passing,” said Mayor Miguel Ángel Mancera.

“Obviously we will have lots of law enforcement in the region. But I think we will have between 2,000 and 2,500 police officers. Their efforts will mostly be directed towards ensuring that cars and individuals can move through the area safely,” Mancera said.
