Lozano Promotes State in Germany

Aguascalientes Gov. Carlos Lozano de la Torre is currently on a working tour in Germany aiming to promote the state as an attractive investment destination for German businesses and investors. The governor will remain in Germany until Feb. 26.

According to state Economic Development Secretary Raúl Landeros Bruni, the governor will attend more than 20 meetings to discuss themes including economics, finance, politics and culture. Lozano will also attend several seminars and conferences to meet with business leaders from around the world.

Landeros noted that the governor is in Germany at the specific request of automotive corporation Daimler, which is currently looking at Aguascalientes as a future investment destination.

“Daimler wants the governor to meet with top-level businesses … in order to send the correct message to their clients,” said Landeros in a statement.

The statesman added that the state government will be working with leading executives of clients who manufacture vehicles in Aguascalientes in order to strengthen business ties. He also stressed that it is vitally important for the state government that local businesses also benefit from the new investment flowing in from Germany.

The governor’s visit of Germany comes as part of the 2016-2017 Year of Cooperation. This agreement, between the governments of Mexico and Germany, is designed to improve cooperation between the two countries and open the door for businesses such as Daimler and Mercedes Benz to develop their businesses in Aguascalientes and other parts of the country.
