The secretary of the Attention to Vulnerable Groups Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, Sara Paola Galico Félix Díaz said that in Mexico, 70,000 young girls and boys are victims of sexual exploitation.

The secretary also tweeted the statistic on her personal account:

During a meeting with other activists, Galico Félix Díaz said that because of this problem, “we need to strengthen mechanisms and make the appropriate corrections to regulations in the area.”

It is urgent that all states agree to follow the General Law for Preventing, Sanctioning and Eradicating Human Trafficking Crimes and the laws concerning the protection and assistance to victims.

We can’t allow this to continue. We will see what we need to do to make all of the 22 states follow these laws.
