Former Governor of Zacatecas Accused of Corruption

After diverting more than 307 million pesos ($15.1 million), former governor of Zacatecas Miguel Alonso Reyes has been denounced for crimes of corruption, along with various officials, by Soledad Luévano Cantú of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena) in front of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).

She said that his actions were comparable to those of Javier Duarte de Ochoa. “With this investigation we detected and documented that the ex-governor diverted a total of 307 million pesos using 24 shell corporations that were supposedly doing work in the most disenfranchised communities of Zacatecas.

Luévano Cantú also presented a file with 122 pages of evidence. The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) will use this to carry out an investigation.
