According to his lawyer, the former drug trafficker is being administered a medicine that prison officials will not identify to his relatives or lawyers

The Specialized Prosecutor for Organized Crime (SEIDO) issued a summons for lawyer José Refugio Rodríguez Núñez to answer questions about declarations made by the lawyer in the name of the sons of Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera, according to Andrés Granados, member of Guzmán Loera’s legal defense team.

Granados said that Rodríguez Núñez will go to SEIDO offices next Monday, but did not say at what time of day. Granados said that Guzmán Loera remains isolated and that the former drug trafficker is being administered a medicine that prison officials will not identify to his relatives or lawyers.

Prison official Eduardo Guerrero said that the medicine was prescribed by a doctor, and that Guzmán Loera is taking it voluntarily.
