In front of the Secretary of the Interior, Miguel Ángel Osorio Chong, the governor highlighted that in the Costa Chica and Costa Grande Regions, places whose security problems scare away many visitors, thanks to actions put in march to improve security, high rates were achieved in terms of hotel services and tourism in general.

The governor Astudillo Flores said that “500 thousand visitors can’t be wrong: Acapulco is the preferred Holy Week tourist destination.”

Osorio Chong asked local government to keep working on the design and implementation of new plans to revitalize institutions, since this is the way in which security can be returned to those Guerrero residents who demand it, and will also guarantee development in the state.

He reiterated that local authorities can count on the support of the federal government to achieve decreases in crime rates, and by doing so contribute to the strengthening of the state’s social fabric and gain the trust of its population.
