MEXICO CITY – The Federal Electoral Tribunal (TEPJF) confirmed on Thursday that National Regeneration Movement (Morena) State of Mexico governor candidate Delfina Gómez Álvarez is responsible for early campaigning activities.

Morena challenged the punishment fines set by the Electoral Tribunal of the State of Mexico (TEEM) — 75, 500 pesos ($4,023) for Delfina and 377, 500 pesos for Morena — on the grounds that activities to promote their candidate in public spaces did not constitute early campaigning.

The Upper Chamber of the TEPJF agreed unanimously with the resolution delivered by the TEEM which set the monetary sanctions.
