State of Mexico Governor Eruviel Ávila Villegas promised that there will be justice for the assault of Ana Gabriela Guevara, who was attacked last Sunday after a road-rage incident on a federal highway in the State of Mexico. The incident was captured on security cameras, and the vehicle driven by the subjects who attacked Guevara has been located.

Ávila Villegas said that state prosecutors are working with the federal Attorney General’s Office (PGR) to find those responsible for the assault. The vehicle, as well as its female owner, have been located, and more advances in the investigation may be made in the next few hours.

Ávila Villegas condemned the aggression against the senator.

“This started as a transit incident, but became an act of violence against a woman,” he said.

A state government official said that the car was a “voyager” model, and that four people were riding in it when the assault took place. He added that the offenders live in the municipality of Coacalco.
