What You’re Doing This Weekend in Mexico City

THURSDAY

Huerto Roma Verde is hosting a festival of film, workshops, concerts, and food this weekend to celebrate green living. The festival kicks off on Thursday and runs until Sunday. After opening ceremony activities, head over to their party in Bajo Circuito at 10:30 p.m., hosted by Arterial MX. Most events are free, but check out the full schedule for times and tickets.

FRIDAY

Are you a RuPaul fan? Aren’t we all? In Auditorio Blackberry you can watch the entire team of queens in all their glory. Tickets run from 490-3,000 pesos (if you want a meet-and-greet pass). The show starts at 11 p.m., so make sure to have your bustier ready by then.

If you’re not feeling fabulous enough for drag, watch German DJ Recondite at Foro Normandie instead. The underground venue is a perfect place to watch some dark mixes. The show starts at 11 p.m. and tickets are 350 pesos.

SATURDAY

On Saturday and Sunday, Cultural Corridor Roma Condesa will be celebrating art, culture, and design with a weekend festival. Museums, restaurants and cafes will have promotions and events for everyone in the family. Many events are free but check out the full schedule for more information.

This is the last weekend for NY Jazz All Stars, so make sure not to miss the last of the lineup! The season runs from March through November in Centro Cultural Roberto Cantoral in Coyoácan; this weekend you can catch Antonio Sánchez and his band Migration. Tickets run from 205-750 pesos.

SUNDAY

Museo del Chopo will be opening a new exhibit to celebrate punk’s influence in art. “Punk and its roots in contemporary art,” curated by David G. Torres, will showcase the genealogy of punk movements in art beginning in New York and London, moving into Mexico City. Entrance is 30 pesos.
