Channel 22 Dedicates Program to Women Throughout History

In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, Channel 22 will broadcast a special program about important women throughout history.

“Women Who Made History” will be broadcast from Monday through Friday and will feature Mexican women scientists, writers, singers, actresses, hostesses and mountain climbers, who will talk about their lives.

Among the women invited to take part in the program are bio-chemic Ana María López Colmé, writer Guadalupe Loaeza, actress Regina Orozco, researcher Julieta Fierro, mountain climber Karla Wheelock and chef Josefina Sánchez Quintanar “Chepina.”

The documentary series “Stories of Women,” directed by María Fernanda Galindo, will tell the stories of 15 talented women, the challenges they faced and the how they accomplished their goals.

On March 8, a documentary called, “The Revolution of the Women of Yemen” will be aired which is about a women that overthrow the presidency in search of social equality.

March 12 Carmina Cannavino will performa a concert in honor of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

During the “Women in the Movies” series, Channel 22 will broadcast films like “Working Girl” staring Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith, “La Dama del Alba” with Marga López and “Madam Bovary” with Isabelle Huppert.
