This is the first year of the event, which will invite 20 producers from Puebla, the State of Mexico, Oaxaca, Tlaxcala and Mexico City to participate and share their products, said event organizer David Espinoza.

“The main objective is to support small- and medium-sized agave producers and pulque distillers. The other goal is that the public feels proud of consuming a product made directly by agave artisans,” the organizer said.

The event will also feature alternative music by a polka-Balkan fusion band, a Latin jazz-salsa fusion band and a reggae group.

Espinoza hopes that the public will enjoy good music and drinks and learn about he history of agave, “which takes between eight and 30 years to be ready to consume, depending on the distillery.”

The event will cost 50 pesos ($2.8) and will take place in Bar Cosa Nostra in the Cuauhtémoc borough.
