Leaves two people dead explosion in pyrotechnics workshops in Tultepec

Tultepec, State of Mexico, December 11, 2021. Two people lost their lives and five more were injured, after an explosion registered in an area of ​​workshops for the production and storage of pyrotechnic material, in this municipality, reported the General Coordination of State Civil Protection.

According to emergency bodies of this institution, the injured people were transferred to the High Specialty Hospitals in Zumpango, to the Vicente Villada General Hospital and three to the Xahuento DIF, where they receive the pertinent medical attention.

In addition, the preliminary report of the State Attorney General’s Office confirmed the death of two people as a result of this event, which occurred on a property with an area of ​​approximately one hectare, where the explosion involved several workshops.

State Civil Protection announced that the call to request help was registered by the C2 around 4:30 p.m. this Saturday, and they immediately moved to this site, located on Amado Nervo street, in Colonia El Mirador, elements of Civil Protection from Tultepec, from Cuautitlán Izcalli and firefighters.

Paramedics from the Red Cross, members of the State Attorney General’s Office, the National Guard, and the state and municipal police also arrived to support care tasks.

So far, the various elements that arrived at the site have controlled and put out the fire, and continue with the cooling and debris removal work.
