WHY HAS ‘EUPHORIA’ SEASON 2 BEEN SO DELAYED?

After becoming one of the revelations of 2019, the commission for a second season was not long in coming. However, the wait for its premiere has been extended for no more and no less than two and a half years. You can imagine the reason: the Covid-19 pandemic.

The filming of the second installment of Euphoria was scheduled to begin in March 2020, just when everything exploded and the industry was completely paralyzed. However, once activity has been recovered amid important security measures, the process of balancing the agendas of those involved as well as the start-up of all the machinery has taken time.

Luckily, the series team and HBO agreed to produce and release two special episodes: ‘The scratches are not eternal’, focused on Rue (Zendaya) and released in December 2020; and ‘The perfect ones to m*marla’, focused on Jules (Schaffer) and released in January 2021, just a year ago.

After that, Sam Levinson assured that the idea was to shoot and release in 2021 and although it has not been completely fulfilled, the truth is that Euphoria is one of the first releases of 2022. WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SEASON 2 OF ‘EUPHORIA’?

Not many details have been revealed about Season 2, so we’ll have to find out what happens bit by bit and week by week.

What is certain, and the official trailer released by the platform gave proof of this, is that Rue has completely relapsed into her addictions and is surrounded by bad company. His relationship with Jules continues to be a key part of the plots of the series, although now a third person will come into play that will complicate things even more. Likewise, other characters will be going through difficult times, such as Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) and Maddy (Alexa Demie), who we also see prominently in the trailer.

Returning cast for Season 2 includes: Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Nika King, Eric Dane, Angus Cloud, Jacob Elordi, Algee Smith, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Barbie Ferreira, Maude Apatow, Javon Walton, Dominic Fike, Storm Reid and Austin Abrams.
