The dollar gained 18 centavos Friday to close at 19.39 pesos in Mexico City currency exchanges. Banks purchased the dollar for a minimum of 18.20 pesos.
The euro gained 34 centavos to close at 21.25 pesos, while the pound and yen closed at 23.56 pesos and 0.210 pesos, respectively.
Mexico’s Central Bank (Banxico) set the official exchange rate at 18.7304 pesos per dollar.
